Talk, Talk, Talk

On Friday, Ben brought me the cell phone, pointed to it and said some gibberish words. I mostly talk to my mom on the cell phone, so I was assuming that he was asking to call grandma. I dialed grandma's number, put her on speaker phone, and gave the phone to Ben. When she answered he immediately started "talking" to her! He walked around the house talking, talking, talking! It was SO CUTE!!!!! He had a lot to tell his grandma!

The phone is in his right hand. He was walking and talking....just like mommy!! (Please ignore the horrific mess on the living room floor. I was in the middle of folding laundry when Ben made his phone call request!)

I am listening! You are so interesting to talk to!

Can I see her on the screen? (Ben always looks at the screen to see if she is there!!)

Peek-a-Boo!

Today I was in Ben's room cleaning and putting things away. When I turned around, I saw Ben sitting on his floor like this:
I couldn't help but bust up laughing! After my laughter subsided, I started a game of peek-a-boo with him. He found this all too amusing and by the end of our game he was belly laughing! He is so much fun!!

Sarah-isms

Here are a few ideas from the world according to Sarah!

**When we were walking to school the other day, we saw a truck that was raised up pretty high and had oversized tires. Sarah says to me: "Mommy, that truck looks like it is wearing high heels!"

**Yesterday Sarah was telling me about "table points" in her classroom. The table with the most points each week gets extra privileges and a trophy on their table. I was talking about the trophy saying that it was one her teacher's husband won a few years ago and Sarah says "No, mommy, that trophy is from the 1900s!" (i.e. 1980s) Boy did I feel OLD!!!!!!

Water, Water, Everywhere!!

Each evening in Yucaipa gets better and better as we head toward fall. Right about 5:30 the shade is nice and the temperature is cool enough for us to venture to the backyard. Ben and Sarah love it. We play in the sandbox (what daddy originally built to be a horseshoe pit...sorry daddy, that will have to wait!), slide, swing, chase the cat, pet the dog, and our favorite activity, playing at the water table that Grandma (Marilee) gave Ben for his first birthday.

Sarah loves it just as much as Ben. She has become quite the "water" chef. Tyson has dubbed her restaurant "Chez Benjamin".

Benjamin really gets into what he is playing! My pictures do not do justice to what this boy truly looked like in person! Well, he lost the shirt immediately because it was DRENCHED about a minute after the water table was filled up and Ben got his hands on the hose! His shorts are soaked on the front (and partially on the back) and his legs are covered with sand (causing mommy to have to clean his tub EVERY night!!! :) His hair and face have been poured upon over and over from the hose, cups, splashing, you name it!

We love to drink the water, too!!!!!! (One of the best parts!!!)
Thank you for the water table, Grandma!!! :)

GYMBOREE!!!

Now that Sarah has gone back to school, Ben and I have gone back to Gymboree! We attend Gymboree Monday mornings and Ben absolutely LOVES it! Gymboree class is a developmental class for babies through pre-schoolers. We do lots of fun activities that relate to Ben's gross motor, fine motor, and social development.
We go through tunnels, go up and down slides, climb up and down ladders, and chase around many balls (Ben's favorite part!!)!
This is Ben's favorite ball at Gymboree. Every time we go to class, Ben finds this particular ball and walks with it, throws it to mommy, and doesn't let any other kids have it! :)
We push the air log across the floor...all the kids line up and push! SO cute!

BUBBLES!!!!!
The best part of Gymboree!

First Day of School!!!

Sarah started 2nd Grade today!! She is now attending our local school. We drive to the neighborhood (about 5 minutes), park, then walk the rest of the way (about 7-8 minute walk). It is nice! Sarah was very excited about going back to school. When we got to her classroom, we met one of the girls on her soccer team! She is going to be in Sarah's class this year! They made fast friends, so Sarah is happy!

After dinner, we had these fun cupcake treats that I made in honor of the first day of school. I made some for daddy, too, since he will be starting back with students next week (he's already been back to work for about 3 weeks now!). Aren't they cute??????

Daddy's says "Asst. Principal" and Sarah's says "2nd Grade"!

These treats are suppose to be blackboards with an apple on the left and a piece of chalk on the right (I could only find colored chalk!!!) I think they turned out pretty cute!

HERE'S TO A GREAT SCHOOL YEAR!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Lingenfelter's Blog!

Well, I finally did it! I broke down and started a blog!
So many of our family friends have a blog and it is such a nice way to keep up with their families!
I send so many pictures and emails to everyone that I thought this would be a better way for me to post our family's happenings! Check in frequently for new posts!
Since I am starting this mid-August, I figured that I would go forward from today and not go backwards to what we have already done! So, stay tuned and check in often!!!
