In Daddy's Shoes

Ben had a lot of fun the other night putting on daddy's slippers and then trying to walk around in them! He looked so cute! I will have to remember this time because I know in a short while he will fit into those slippers!

Christmas...a bit early!

About a week ago, Ben discovered that one of his wrapped presents under the tree made noise. He would push it and listen to the vrrrmmmm sound and beeping sound. Soon, there appeared a finger hole in the paper. Tonight, the finger hole became a bit bigger......He continued to rip off the paper.
Then he would run to the trash can to throw the paper away.
Then he would push down to hear the sounds again.
We called grandma to tell her the story (the present is from her) and she decided that it was only fair for Sarah to open a present, too. She got a Webkinz Seahorse! She named her Seaweed!
I put Ben's toy together, and he LOVED it!
We lined up all of his matchbox cars and pushed them down the ramp.
Thank you for the toy, Grandma!!!!!

After all the fun with the toys, Sarah made these cookies for her class! Aren't they just so cute??? She did them all by herself!

SNOW!!!!!

On Wednesday, it rained and snowed all day long, but it never stuck! Then at around 6pm on Wed. night it started snowing and it didn't stop!!! We got home from our friends Jamie and Krista's house at 8:15 and our house looked beautiful! The whole neighborhood looked so Christmasy with the snow and the lights!

Sarah was so excited to have the snow! She made a huge snowball to throw at daddy!

The next morning, I woke Sarah up early so she could play in the snow before school.

We loved the way the snow slid off the slide!

Ben was happy in the snow until he fell! He did NOT like his hands getting cold. He was getting quite frustrated with it. He didn't last long out there!

My snow angel!

The view from our street. The mountain was so pretty!

Yucaipa Christmas Parade!

2008 Yucaipa Christmas Parade!

Sarah's Cheer/Dance Class marched in the parade this year! She had SOOOO much fun!

While we were waiting for the parade to start, Ben had fun playing in the dirt. It has been sunny and 75 degrees here in CA all week. Of course, today, we wake up to 40 degree weather and rainy! So, Ben was really playing in mud. Look at how dirty he got! :) He loved it, though! I still had his Christmas clothes in the car from when we took Christmas pictures, so he had a dry pair of pants to put on once the parade started!

It's starting! Ben LOVED the fire trucks! There were about 10 trucks and they were loud with their lights flashing! He loved it! The horses were another of his favorites.

Sarah's Cheer/Dance Group!

She did so great and had so much fun!

Applesauce Eyebrows

Ben is now at the stage in his toddler life that he will not let anyone feed him! He has to do it! He is getting pretty good, most of the food makes it into his mouth, however, a lot does not. It sure makes for some cute pictures!

When he was done eating his applesauce (it's blueberry applesauce, that is why it's purple) the other day, I looked over at him and just starting busting up! He made perfect applesauce eyebrows! Too cute!

Thanksgiving in Tucson, AZ

This year, we decided to get out of town and spend a nice, family weekend away for Thanksgiving. It was just what the doctor ordered! It was relaxing, calm, easy, and good quality family time with the kids! We went back to Tucson, AZ to visit the U of Arizona campus and eat at our old haunts.
On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, we went to the pool and played most of the day (until it started raining on us!) The pool was nice and heated and Sarah LOVED the water slide! We ate lunch out by the pool and just soaked in the fun!

On Friday, we visited the U of A campus. We had Flat Stanley with us (for a student at Tyson's school). Sarah had a great time with Flat Stanley and told us where, how, and why to take pictures of him! I think she was a little bummed that she didn't get to do that with her own Flat Stanley earlier this year!

In front of the football stadium.

At the Flandreau Science Center on Campus.

In front of the dorm where Tyson and I lived our Freshman year (and where we first met...ahhhhhh!)

In front of my sorority house! They have made some changes that make it look awesome!!!

The kids in front of Old Main.

On Saturday, we left Tucson and stopped at the Ostrich Ranch (about 30 miles outside of Tucson). It was SO much fun! The kids (and Tyson and I, for that matter) had a blast!

Ben LOVED feeding the deer. They were so gentle with him. He could stick his hand out with food on it and they would just lick it off his hands. He thought this was just too cool.

We went to see the Ostrich next, but they were so aggressive that both Ben and Sarah wanted NOTHING to do with them!

Ben found a donkey to feed, too!

Our last stop was the Lorakeet house. These birds would fly right on to your head and arms while drinking the nectar out of the cup. It was my favorite part. Very COOL!

Ben didn't know what to think when this bird landed on his head!
